The September sale got off to a good start with the Ceramics section, which included a pair of 19th Century Cantonese oviform large vases fetching £1550 (lot 1) and a 19th Century Doulton Lambeth jug by George Tinworth which realised £260 (lot 62). The highlight of the Picture section was a period watercolour depicting Prince Albert which sold for £740 (lot 95). The highlights of the Silver and Jewellery section included an 18ct white gold solitaire diamond ring, approx 1.80ct which made £1500 (lot 149) and an 18ct white gold solitaire diamond ring, approx 2ct fetched £1150 (lot 173). Highlights of the Works of Art section included a 19th Century Chinese ivory cricket cage fetching £500 (lot 238), a 19th Century Japanese large bronze vase realised £500 (lot 234), a small interesting early 19th Century sailor’s work model of a sailing vessel made £900 (lot 276) and a pair of 19th Century Japanese carved ivory tusk vases fetched £800 (lot 240). Highlights of the Furniture section included a William IV mahogany extending dining table which fetched £1400 (lot 506), an early Victorian gothic revival oak library partners table sold for £1250 (lot 472) and a George III mahogany chest on chest realised £1200 (lot 403). Other highlights included a William IV mahogany sofa fetching £780 (lot 395) and a Jacobean oak chest in two sections fetched £760 (lot 398).
