The Sale began with the Ceramics Section, its highlights included a pair of 19th Century Chinese large flared rim vases fetching £320 and a late 19th Century Meissen dessert service fetching £240. The highlights of the Picture Section were Andre Adrien Tannell, A Seated Lady with an Infant Girl fetching £550, Elizabeth Washington, Figures By a Cottage fetching £230 and W.J. Sutton, Study of Two Man of War fetching £900. Within this section was a large collection of ephemera from Glyn Jones, a Theatrical Agent in the 1950’s and 1960’s, which fetched in excess of £1000. The highlights of the Works of Art Section included an ivory walking cane, fetching £360, a Wheatstone concertina causing the usual interest and fetching £2200, a good collection of early plate cameras, to include an early mahogany and brass mounted plate camera fetching £220, another similar smaller fetching £300. A good early mahogany and brass magic lantern fetched £220 and a 1920’s crocodile skin travelling case fetched £50. The Collectors’ items included toys, dolls and musical instruments and included a large single owner collection of Dinkys, Corgis and Minics. They fetched in excess of £5000. Also within this section was a Hoffner Committee Vintage Guitar, circa 1955, fetching £600 and a 19th Century rosewood cased Swiss musical box fetching £460. The Militaria, Medals and Coins Section heralded a good selection of medals to include the Queen’s Sudan Medal and two others fetching £560 and a King’s South Africa Medal fetching £150. A good medal group fetched £380 and another similar fetched £380. Also within the section was a Battle of Britain group of six medals fetching £760 and a good collection of early coins from a single owner, to include a George I Crown, fetching £2400. Nine 15th Century Henry VI silver pennies, fetched £250 and a collection of ten silver coins to include Queen Anne fetched £560. The Clocks and Barometers Section had its highlights, with a George III ebonised bracket clock fetching £3000 and a French three-piece clock garniture fetching £420. The highlights of the Furniture Section included a George III mahogany and painted bureau bookcase fetching £1700, a George III mahogany chest on chest fetching £800 and a clavichord by John Morley fetching £340. A 19th Century large mahogany twin pedestal partners desk fetched £2600, a mahogany and inlaid and crossbanded side cabinet fetched £1200. A good set of eight Regency mahogany dining chairs fetched £3100, a George III oak dresser fetched £2700 and a George III oak dresser base fetched £950.
