The highlights of the November sale were a locally consigned collection of classic MG cars, of which there were five in total.  Fortunately the MG TA, registration DEL 973, built on 26th October 1936, was kept in a garage and despite needing some work to bring it back to its former glory it fetched £12,800 (lot 647).  The remaining cars, which had been outside for 30 years made between £500 and £800 along with all the accessories.

Highlights of the specialist Silver and Jewellery sale included a Victorian Scottish silver canteen by Robert Scott, weighing 180ozs, which sold for £2250 (lot 161).  A group of five George II and George III silver dishes fetched £2400 (lot 125), a Victorian yellow gold suite of jewellery fetched £1900 (lot 247), an 18ct gold five stone diamond ring 2.24ct made £1600 (lot 322), a Victorian canteen of silver cutlery weighing 124ozs sold for £1550 (lot 166) and a pair of George II silver candlesticks by John Gamon reached £1500 (lot 131).

 

Highlights in other departments included a George III mahogany Longcase clock which fetched £1600 (lot 678), an early 18th Century coloured map of Hampshire and Wiltshire sold for £1200 (lot 552), a George I walnut cabinet on chest fetched £1100 (lot 828), a Hayes King oil on canvas reached £1100 (lot 538), a Cartier Panthere gold and stainless steel ladies wristwatch fetched £980 (lot 205), a George III mahogany bachelor’s chest made £950 (lot 860) and a pair of early 19th Century Chinese large bulbous form vases realised £720 (lot 434).
