434 An Important and Historical Medal Group to Rear Admiral Robert Love Alexander CB DSO DSC to include The Companion of the Order of the Bath, Distinguished Service Order, Distinguished Service Cross, 1939-1945 Star, The Atlantic Star, The Africa Star, The Burma Star, the 1939-1945 Medal with mention in Dispatches, the Korean War Medal with mention in Dispatches, United Nations Korean War Medal and The Coronation Queen Elizabeth II Medal.  His most prolific command was HMS/M Truculent with Distinguished Service Order for a successful attack on U Boat U308 off The Faroes in May 1943, mentioned in Dispatches for his involvement in Operation Source which was the X Craft attack on a German battleship Tirpitz which involved towing midget submarine X6 to the entrance of The Alten Fjord in Northern Norway, Battleship Tirpitz was heavily damaged and was not able to leave her anchorage.  He was also commander of HMS Proteus with many engagements and actions.  The lot includes the medal miniatures.
The Korea Medal is un-named but is the original Type 1 and not a replacement.  We have photographs of the Rear Admiral wearing this exact medal group.  We have both citations for the mention in Despatches and copies of original log books.  The Medal Group is being sold by the Rear Admiral's son who is willing to provide any information that is relevant.
