The highlight of the May sale was the specialist picture section, which included a large Dutch WINTER LANDSCAPE by Charles Henri Joseph Leickert, 1818-1907, Netherlands, oil on canvas, which fetched £5000 (lot 202).  Other highlights of the picture section included Arthur Meadows, 1843-1907, VERONA RIVER SCENE, oil on canvas, which made £3000 (lot 164), an 18th Century Italian School FIGURES AMONGST RUINS realised £1050 (lot 110), William Purser, 1790-1852, THE DOGES PALACE, VENICE, watercolour, fetched £1000 (lot 166), an 18th Century Italian School FIGURES BEFORE A LAKE IN A RURAL SETTING, also fetched £1000 (lot 117) and Thomas Bush Hardy, 1842-1897, NELSON’S VICTORIOUS MAN ‘O WAR made £850 (lot 184).

 Other highlights in the sale were an 18ct white gold five stone diamond ring, approx 3.01ct, which sold for £3200 (lot 235), a William IV mahogany breakfront bookcase realised £1800 (lot 556), an 18ct gold five stone diamond ring fetched £1400 (lot 229), a 19th Century Canton large oviform vase made £1150 (lot 41), a George I walnut chest on chest realised £1000 (lot 507), a William de Morgan large charger made £920 (lot 74) and a Victorian burr walnut secretaire bookcase fetched £850 (lot 609).
