Undoubtedly the highlight of the sale was a pair of oil paintings, School of Spoilum, Guan Zuolin, 1770-1805, one A VIEW OF THE FOREIGN FACTORIES, CANTON and the other A VIEW OF THE RIVER BELOW THE WESTERN SECTOR, each 37.5 x 70.5cms, which fetched £20,000 (lot 73).   

The other highlight of the sale was an extensive stamp group from a local collector which realised in excess of £15,000 (lots 115-148).

 

In the Works of Art section a large patinated bronze group by Antonio Giovanni Lanzirotti, 1839-1884, Italian, sold for £1700 (lot 235), and in the Pictures section a pair of oils by Albert E Bailey, TRANQUIL RIVER SCENES WITH SWANS fetched £1200 (lot 93) and a William Blandford Fletcher  RURAL SCENE WITH CATTLE BEFORE A TIMBER FRAMED COTTAGE sold for £600 (lot 102)

 A George III mahogany chest on chest made £1100 (lot 423), an 18th Century walnut chest realised £1100 (lot 422) and a set of eight Chippendale style mahogany dining chairs fetched £640 (lot 411).
