January 2010 Auction Report
The January collectors’ sale included a very interesting
collection of Scalextric which made in excess of £5000 (lots
454-462), a large collection of Britains model figures sold for £900
(lot 464) and a lot containing Hornby trains reached £370 (lot 445).
Other items arousing interest were a Queen Anne walnut cabinet on
stand which made £2300 (lot 725), a George I walnut chest on chest
realised £2200 (lot 600) and a pair of parcel gilt mirrors sold for
£1000 (lot 723). Amongst the rugs and carpet a Turkoman rug sold for
£650 (lot 544) and there was late interest in a large collection of
pictures and prints which made £1100 (lot 189). In the silver and
jewellery section a gold pendant set with a large amethyst made £880
(lot 297) and an 18ct white gold solitaire diamond ring sold for
£850 (lot 333).
