February 2010 Auction Report
 

The highlight of the February Sale was the specialist Pictures and Books section, which included Frank Paton (England, 1856-1909), Study of a Cat Within An Artist’s Hat, oil on canvas, which fetched £5000 (Lot 150). A 18th Century Portrait of a Young Girl, oil on canvas, fetched £4300 (Lot 149) and a pair of 19th Century oil paintings on canvas, American School, depicting Children within a Landscape fetched £1750 (Lot 133).


Other highlights of the sale included a large cast iron fireback and basket which fetched £1700 (Lot 507), a George III oak dresser which fetched £1200 (Lot 522), a two-row pearl necklet with diamond and sapphire clasp fetched £1000 Lot 300), a George III oak dresser base fetched £900 (Lot 605) and a 19th Century flame mahogany open bookcase fetched £900 (Lot 527).
