The sale began with the Ceramic section
with highlights to include a pair of lidded 19th Century Vienna
globular vases fetching £500 (lot 153), a Royal Worcester model of
Napoleon Bonaparte upon horseback, fetching £600 (lot 158) and a
Chinese Nanking oval blue and white small tureen and cover fetching
£250 (lot 173). The highlights of the Pictures section included
James Walter Gozzard, a pair of oil paintings, fetching £500 (lot
188), a collection of lithographs after Salvador Dali fetching in
excess of £1500 (lots 198-208) and a set of twenty three Beatrix
Potter books fetching £100 (lot 243). The Works of Art section
included a pair of 19th Century ormolu table lamps fetching £380 (lot
359), a 19th Century polar bear skin fetching £800 (lot 380), a pair
of 18th Century small oval silkwork pictures fetching £250 (lot 384).
The Clocks and Barometers included a 19th Century gothic
revival patinated bronze timepiece fetching £560 (lot 410), an unusual
Maple & Co wall clock fetching £460 (lot 411), a 19th Century French
boulle mantel clock fetching £480 (lot 409) and a George III mahogany
automaton longcase fetching £1200 (lot 416).The Rugs included a
very long early North West Persian runner fetching £200 (lot 430) and
an early antique Bokhara carpet fetching £180 (lot 426). The
Furniture section included a 19th Century Dutch mahogany large
bookcase, fetching £1400 (lot 576), a Victorian mahogany window seat
fetching £460 (lot 585), an early 19th Century mahogany brass bound
two part military chest fetching £1450 (lot 625), another similar,
without the secretaire, fetching £1300(lot 626), a Victorian carved
oak gothic revival hall stand fetching £600 (lot 636) and a William IV
mahogany chest fetching £820 (lot 649)
