Highlights of the
December Sale included a Regency Rosewood and Inlaid Chiffonier with
an unusual arcadian front which fetched £1850 (lot.655), a Victorian
mahogany extending dining table with two extensions which made £1800
(lot.635), and a William IV mahogany large secretaire bookcase which
brought £1200 (lot.607).
More interesting furniture sales included an 18th Century
Dutch marquetry bombe chest which sold for £1150 (lot.717), and a
late 17th/early 18th Century walnut cabinet on
stand which made £1050 (lot.604) and a
George II walnut
chest of two short and three long drawers that fetched £700
(lot.589)
A George III mahogany chest on chest made £850 (lot.677), a Regency
mahogany bow fronted tall chest fetched £800 (lot.625), while an 18th
Century Dutch mahogany cylinder bureau fetched £720 (lot.608)
From other sections,
a large collection of British silver coins made £720 (lot.423),
Johann Hendrik Morrien, Dutch School of Flemish landscape made £550
(lot.100), and a pair of Royal Worcester flared rim vases decorated
by James Stinton attracted £600 (lot.4)
Other highlights
included an 18ct. white gold princess cut solitaire diamond ring
1.12 carat which made £500 (lot.186), an 18ct. gold open face key
wind pocket watch selling for £400 (lot.181), and the hammer
fell at £900 for an
early Chinese jade hand rest (lot.377)
